Practice Summary

Juna Summerton received her Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Microbiology, her Masters degree in Biotechnology, and her J.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington. While earning her law school degree, Ms. Summerton interned with the Patent Group of the international medical device manufacturer, Cook Medical; the Indiana University’s technology transfer office, the Indiana University Research and Technology Corporation; and The Noblitt Group, PLLC. During this time, she was a Student Editor of IP Theory, and a member of Indiana University Maurer School of Law’s Intellectual Property Association.

Prior to law school, Ms. Summerton practiced as an American Society of Clinical Pathology-certified clinical microbiology technologist in the hospital and medical reference laboratory settings; she maintains her certifications. Her legal experience includes intellectual property counseling, assistance with patent preparation and prosecution, trademark prosecution, intellectual property licensing and related contracts.
